One of my favorite childhood stories was a brilliant book called “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. Wikapadeia describes it brilliantly here :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Very_Hungry_Caterpillar and if you wish to purchase a copy go here : http://www.amazon.com/Very-Hungry-Caterpillar-Eric-Carle/dp/0399226907 . Here is my new take on that insatiably hungry caterpillar……
In the light of the moon, a window of a flat was lit brightly, inside that room was a warm snuggly bed, when all of a sudden, POP!, out of the bed came an exhausted but very awake Mummy!
–
–
She tried reading her favorite book – but she was still awake!
–
–
She tried eating a late night snack
– but she
was still awake!
–
–
She tried deep breathing and meditation – but she was still awake!
–
–
She tried several different bloody medicationssleepy tablets- but she was still awake!
–
–
She tried watching the most mind distracting sleep inducing DVD she could find, one she had watched many times – but you know what she was – STILLBLOODY AWAKE!
–
–
She tried surfing the internet – but by now she was in a very strange kind of half awake sure all this is a dream state but NOT ASLEEP
Then finally, after several hours of EBay the still awake Mummy began to drift into a kind of bidding coma…
–
–
and the next morning out of that coma came a much less tolerant Mummy with huge bags under her eyes
…who for some odd reason had a craving for swiss cheese, watermelon and lollypop and wished she had wings
–
–
and that somehow by some miracle she had enough money to pay for the twelve black skirts she bid on last night…
Have learnt the answer to insomnia – TRY AND MAKE WORDPRESS ALIGHN PICTURES AND TEXT UNDER ONE ANOTHER ON ANY SIDE OF THE PAGE – I DON’T CARE ANYMORE!!!!!!!
Oh I know!! Isn’t it annoying??! WordPress will be the death of me. I just know it.
I’m sorry you’ve been awake all night :-( Hope you manage to squeeze in a bit of rest here and there today and have a fridge full of snacks to munch on for energy.
P.S. Rachel, I have to say it, but please don’t take this the wrong way or anything, you may be a very tired caterpiller but you are a BEAUTIFUL butterfly!! Even half asleep!!! I am having serious envy issues over your gorgeous big eyes…
awwww – you are so sweet *blush and hide under couch*
Actually, I thought that was part of the effect! Every tried desperately to stay awake/keep your eyes wide open at such times? It sometimes works…
thank you :) – i feel less frustrated by the staggered-ness this morning…
I would recommend some trashy magazines for late night waking. My eyes always go blurry over the who was wearing what pictures.

Insomniac sucks. Fact.
Here’s hoping for a full eight hours soon!
:)
That should say insomnia not insomniac.
Gah! Too tired to spell.

I really wish there was some way to give you my sleepiness. Some of it, at least, just to balance things up.
